Singapore’s highest vertical indoor farm incorporating the latest farming technology - GO FARM

Arianetech is honored to provide total solution of city indoor farm plant factory to Genesis One Tech Farm to be build within 2021. The new indoor leafy green farm will incorporate racking systems of around 6.5 metres in height.

The farm will also adopt a hybrid Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) system that uses only a fraction of the water generally associated with hydroponic systems and can accommodate both substrate and NFT planting methods.

Close Chambers for GHG Research - SFA

Customized a Close Chamber for Singapore Food Agency for their Greenhouse Gases research in October 2023. They use the Close Chamber to grow plants respectively in the indoor space and greenhouse to collect the gases emitted out by the plant. This research allows them to analyze gases emitted in different environments and how to reduce the impact.

National University of Singapore - Agritech Centre

Built 8 potato cultivation racks for NUS, Department of Biological Science for research on growing potatoes indoor.

NANYANG TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY - School Materials Science and Engineering

Built 2 NFT system used for R&D at NTU which one of the focal points is Agri Innovation whereby part of its efforts is to support government goal in to build up our agri-food industry's capability and capacity to sustainably produce 30% of our nutritional needs by 2030.

Mr.Edwin Ong visited to GreenTech in Amsterdam on June 2024

Our CEO Mr.Edwin Ong visited to GreenTech in Amsterdam on 12th,13th,14th June. That is a truly amazing experience to explore almost everything about modern application of technology into Farming.

Besides learning from some of the best in the industry during this event, he met some old friends and make new connections too.

This is an opportunity for people around the world to learn and share, where “East Meets West”.

JPFA Held the JPLA*OptimIA Collaboration Forum on 16th May 2024

On May 16, Dr. Chieri Kubota, a professor at Ohio State University who leads the Ohio Controlled Environment Agricultural Center (OHCEAC), visited Kashiwanoha Campus with OptimIA members.  During the JPFA×OptimIA Collaboration Forum the visiting professors and researchers, together with JPFA member companies gave lightning talks and held discussions on the construction and operation of plant factories.

Arianetech hopes to cooperate with universities and colleges in the future to design and build new modern plant factory, which are resilient enough to be able to compete with traditional farms. One of the American professors whose  research is focusing on how to increase the economic benefits of plant factories, is highly consistent with what we are currently pursuing now and this is a new research area where we don’t see much but is crucial to the survival of indoor farms.

The OptimIA project is a multi-state university research and extension collaboration among controlled-environment plant physiologists, agricultural engineers, and agricultural economists.

The annual Agriculture Workshop was successfully held on 10th May 2024 at SFA

The annual Agriculture Workshop organized by SFA and Urban Solutions & sustainability Innovation & Enterprise Office (USS IEO) in partnership with Singapore Agro-Food Enterprises Federation Limited (SAFEF), NUS Enterprise and Urban Agriculture Centre of Innovation (UA COI) was successfully held on 10th May 2024 at SFA.

This year, the theme “Understanding Your Farms’s Resource Consumption” had participants and stakeholder discussing and sharing on possibilities to improve resource efficiency and cost savings on farms through innovation and the use of technology.

Our CEO, Mr. Edwin Ong was honoured to be part of the panel discussion. He shared insights on the topic of how the selection and usage of efficient equipment in High-Tech farm can help to reduce the cost of production and how it can improve the off take ability of the produces.

Recently, there have been some news reports about the arising challenge of operating High-Tech farms in Singapore, which has also caused public concerns pertaining to the Singapore government’s 30X30 plan. Many countries across the world including Singapore have been facing cases of High-Tech farm shutting or scaling down . These cases does not imply the total failure of the High-Tech farm industry or technology but are the natural evolution of the market economy forces. In fact, there are still many large corporates in the world that still believed in and have been actively investing in, researching, building and operating High-Tech farms.

The shutting down of High-Tech farms across the globe does not hinder our progress. We strongly believed that through learning from failures, continuous innovation, and investment in the research and development of new technologies, we will be able to make things right. We are confident that in the near future, High-Tech farm will be able to operate with very high efficiency and cost of production will be able to improve the economics that is crucial for the existence of such farm.

Arianetech will continue to work with stakeholder to enable these High-Tech farms to optimize their resource consumption especially in Super Efficient LED lighting technology and to provide solutions of affordable automation to reduce the cost of production.
